Throat Chakra

The seat of our self-expression sits in the throat chakra. Holding back our truth can lead to guilt, shame, and blame. An overactive throat chakra can manifest in us as domineering, where we behave in a hyperactive manner or fanatically. The opposite characteristics—resistance to change, stubbornness, and slowness of response to others—occur when this chakra is underactive.

We may find that we can be both bossy and unable to state our needs clearly. We tell people what to do at the same time that we find difficulty in asking for help, support, or attention in a direct manner. We may not be able to express our own truth. It takes time to determine our needs and to express them in a kind way. Our inventory can show us the outcome when this skill is lacking.
